I doubt I need to say much more on this subject.
It just pisses me off everyday.
So a piece of advice Americia- know where you are going or at least act like it and merge!

THis message was inspired by 495. :redfu:

Did you ever see that thing on the news about one of the reasons traffic is always so backed up...something about it taking 30 extra seconds out of your day per person that switches lanes.

It takes me less than 5 mintues to get to work.

Yea, but the cost...living in Williamsburg.

I'd rather have a commute into DC. This place sucks.

I live 5 minutes away from my work too.
However, taking in transferring buses, dropping the kids off at school and the walking in between, it takes me 70 minutes.

it takes ME about 7-10 mins to drive to work, even with traffic, others prolly do it in 20mins. it pays to not be a moron.

Agreed...

Living in the heart of baltimore and commuting to downtown annapolis isn't the greatest, but it could be a hell of a lot worse.

takes me 10 minutes. 3 miles. love it.

I'm working on getting a shorter commute. Beggers can't be choosers.

I used to walk, but rent in the big city just pissed me off. I lived in a closet and they raped me on rent!
Now, I get a balcony, fireplace, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and a full size fridge for about the same cost.
My life would be sweet as jam if everyone just stayed home in NoVa until 8:30. That way I could finally get to work on time.

I commute timonium to glen burnie..35 minutes without traffic, one hour or more with. As for living in the city..its either gonna be very shitty area or very expensive..and most people would prefer suburbs and commute.

It takes me anywhere from an hour to 1.5 hours to get to work. Taking 123 and FF County Parkway will be the death of me.

I just saw Final Destination 2! Watch it, and after the first scene, turn the movie off and go driving on the highway.

as I said before, if you live in the city you are either gonna get s shitty place in a shitty neighborhood or get a very expensive place in a nice area of the city..but most cities have no place for the midde class..thats why suburbs exist

Mandaba

going to work is no problem, it requires one road. unfortunately it's only 2 lanes wide and NO ONE knows how to drive. plus there is a HORRIBLE amount of stop lights i have to go through.

now driving to class is a different story, usually the way i take isnt that bad...ONLY when 95 south is backed it up stops traffic from the exit i normally take on 495. COMPLETELY PISSES ME OFF. so ive had to take a different exit...but usually when i take that exit 495 IS backed up. and there is NO WAY i am taking little river turnpike to class. fuck traffic. and FUCK THOSE GOD DAMN MINIVANS!

I live in a great neighborhood in the city, in a great apt., and am paying much less than friends with smaller apts. out in the burbs.

dan i'm actually quite surprised you would write something like this knowing your apparent knowledge and understanding of practical reasoning. as far as i'm concerned, the above statement doesn't hold up.

Well, with dc getting the highest murder rates in the country, Baltimore having the highest heroin addiciton in the country, and cities in general not being the prettiest places on earth, Give me the suburbs anyday. Not perfect, but a hell of a lot nicer

Okay...so I seem like a nice sweet individual...but put me behind the wheel and I am a MANIAC.

So I moved into the city.. =) I like not having to drive a bar and fight over who is the DD, you just stumble home. I live 2 miles from work, I get on the bus, open a book and enjoy the ride. I love living in the city, while the rent might be costly, the local, small grocery stores are very inexpensive. Also, we got Flexcar which means we don't pay for gas or insurance and only use the car when we need to. We're saving *so* much money since we moved into DC. We can go get cups of coffee at 3am and have pizza delivered at 3am too if we want!

It's so awesome...move into the city if you can, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I live in Bethesda, which is city enough and right on the red line...so except for the 3 am closing of the metro on weekend nights, all is good. I use the Ride-on and metro for work.
