Mark Farina is better at a more intimate club setting like Five, especially since it caters to an older crowd. The kind of music Buzz likes to book is high energy and slammin... so the chance of Mark Farina ever playing at Buzz is highly unlikely.

:stupid:
I completely agree. I think Five is better suited for Mark Farina.

i think "better suited" is a sleepy tired bad argument against having house or anything else at buzz.
cold cut for instance...live on stage...would ANNIALATE the dancefloor
as would any number of house djs... Little Louie Vega and Eric Morrillo did a night a few years ago and not only was it PACKED but the vibe was THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK...like i hadn't felt in years in that space. vibe seriously came out of the walls.
more house should be booked
the end
end the seperatism.

mark farina...his "mushroom jazz" puts me to sleep. He def shouldnt be booked at Buzz...i see him better suited at a coffee house...

I miss Traxx all the time, first club I ever went to. . .
housecat
2003-11-12, 02:18 PM
I think it was my second. All right... is it Tracks or Traxx because I see it spelled 2 different ways a lot? I know that Traxx was renting their club out a few years back as I was looking into renting space for a party so I want to say that's not it. Anyone know which was the correct spelling?

yeah i can't remember how it's spelled either, the office buliding they put up instead really throws you for a loop..it looks NOTHING like it used to.

How so? I know it's right around there. Saw an ad in the paper for renting space a while back and I called and talked to some guy with a THICK accent about prices and stuff.
Off topic like whoa but I'm curious.

I saw Mark out in San Francisco at a nice club called DNA. The DNA lounge has this StarTrek looking DJ booth that is kind of suspended from the upper level reminiscent of 'private boxes' at the old JFK Stadium. When he was spinning I remember I was delighted to literally be able to see down into the booth - as if watching over his shoulder and see this guy do his ' Mushroom Jazz' thing. He is Deep House, so if you are not down with it don't go see him, but if you have never seen him, check out how he somehow weaves in NuSkool funky breaks into straight up Deep House. The man is the Shidzit. :nuke:

I am a jaded old fock and Mark is my Michael Jordan. No one has groove like he does- homie slams it down with the best.
If you havent heard him dj......bah.....if you havent then you should.
it is House music yes- but that doesnt mean it cant have just as if not more energy than anything being currently slotted in the main room at Cubik.

i wonder if buzz patrons could really handle more than 3-5 peaks a night? b/c mark brings at least as many peaks as tracks he plays
