i live 3 hours away from DC and have to make a trip up to Buzz whenever i want to go. I usually have left by 3pm or so just to get up there before rush-hour and hang out w/ friends before i go to Nation. Getting an E-mail at 5pm just doesnt cut it for us who are travelling w/in that time. Is this e-mail absolutely necessary or is it just a precautionary if our name doesnt appear on the list for some reason and all we have is ID?

Not needed. If you KNOW you have 10 posts for the week (you can check this periodically) then you're good to go with your photo ID.
