Definitely a cool flick, one that all :cracksmoker:-heads should watch to help put shit in perspective. It's not quite as bad as Requiem for a Dream, but it's along the same lines with some very intense and disgusting scenes. WARNING: If you ever thought Mena Suvari was anything remotely close to attractive, this movie will surely change that as she is part of one of the most disgusting scenes I've watched in a while.

Trust me, it's nasty.

Also, Micke Rourke was awesome in this movie, and the original music (done by Billy Corgan) was also top-notch

incredible movie... was pleasantly surprised with the everpresent humor brought into many moments, making the movie a little more palatable then requiem.

and i will forever cringe now when i hear a CD player start to skip. :chilly::noway::crying2:

This is one of my fav movies just because of the great directing that is done, I believe it was actually the same guy who done requiem but mickey owned this movie, when he ran from the meth lab explosion I died laughing. If you havent saw this movie yet, please go rent it.

i just saw this on Saturday night. i'm not sure if it was unrated or not. we rented it from some random movie spot, not a blockbuster. how do they differ?

and yes there are some foul scenes, but it doesn't touch Requiem.

yep, warehouse warehouse warehouse, and though I thought this movie was similar to requiem a good friend (J*C*M) pointed out that requiem shows the decent into addiction, this one shows people already on it, one line..whats great is Im not hooked..does make it even more freaky..but yea this movie and the picture that was on the board a while ago just show ya man, drugs be scary!

They splice a sex scene with a series of really graphic animations, most of which are blurred out or entirely cut in the rated version.
That was the main one that caught my attention. There were a few other added scenes throughout the film.

A few cameos I noticed as well:
Billy Corgan
Rob Halford
Deborah Harry
and the one and only, Ron Jeremy

just saw this last night. she's totally hot in this flick. not so much now, though.

i think i saw the censored version. i thought it was a very ambitious picture and for the most part i enjoyed it. micky rourke fucking owned and i'm pretty sure that's the best role i've seen ms. murphy play to date. and unlike many other drug-themed movies, this one was pretty believable. however, the ending left me quite unsatisfied... just not much resolution. it was pretty good on the whole, but it could have been better.

I thought the movie was pretty damn good. It was a mostly accurate depiction of twacking, both profoundly disturbing but still grounded in realism and with a sense of humor. The characters remind me of way more people than i want to admit. It didn't really say anything all that profound or artistic like Requiem did so incredibly, but that comes with the material. Twack just isn't as somberly devastating as heroin. Just as devastating, don't get me wrong, but not in such a serious and reserved way. Tweakers who really should make you sad, can still seem light hearted or silly at first glance. Lots of cool dialogue and some pretty interesting directing and animation too. Didn't like the whole tweakers handcuff people to the bed and leave them for four days thing. They're crazy for sure, but not that utterly malicious or evil. Otherwise, realistic at least relative to hollywood and good fun for the whole family. Can't deny that drugs make for interesting storylines. This gets the Dan Rabbitt Recommendation.

I saw this movie a long time ago at a party. wasn't paying attention to it, but I did catch the name of it. then, a few days later I rented it and watched it. it was gritty, but the humor made it a bit more tolerable than most drug movies. i see alot of comparisons to RFAD in this thread. I saw no similarity to Requiem....except that they are both about addiction. RFAD was much nastier, and it just hit a whole lot harder on many different levels. I have owned the uncut version of spun for several years now. i still watch it every now and then. good times, i guess.

it does however have the greatest scene of all time in it. the one where they are in the porn store and the american flag drops behind mickey rourke. he starts to give that speech. i swear to jeeeebus, i could watch that scene 20 times in a row and still think that it is hilarious.
