I hate renting DVDs from Blockbuster...I usually get the DVD that someone used as a coaster or frisbee that locks up halfway through the movie...if it starts at all. Plus, my DVD player isn't the best...
I have around 80 now, and the collection just keeps growing every few weeks. It's a good thing I became a Suncoast Replay member recently, i've gotten over 50 bucks in certificates so far! :raveon:

0 at the moment. I *just* got a dvd player. I'm not pressed, but I'd like to build up a collection of indie/foreign movies. Espescially Animie.
It makes me happy. I have plenty of VHS movies though. :delirious:
I've never needed to buy dvd's really, my friend has over 300, all mostly obscure off the wall movies. She brings them over often

ZERO!!! But I'm about to change this shortly with the purchase of "The Matrix" :raveon:
Uptil this weekend I didn't have a DVD player, but quickly purchased the Pioneer from Best Buy. For those who haven't got one this is a sweet deal right now -> only $80 for a quality DVD player. It's $100 -$10 main in rebate - $10 Best Buy gift card = $80.
Also, Circuit City is selling "The Matrix" for $10. I'm sure Best Buy could match the price. :D Stampede ppl.!!

I usually am on the look out at bestbuy.com.. You can usually pick up movies for fairly cheap.. (ie $10.00 or so) Then on Tuesdays when the new movies are released they are always $5.00 - $7.00 cheaper.. So they are like 14.99 or so..

Pleasantville
The Matrices
Animatrix
first season of Six Feet Under
and if I can find it, the complete set of Liquid Television

How come no one's mentioned the Star Wars trilogy DVDs?
Also, for the flat screen afficionados :
New Display Tech Revealed (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,1132116,00.asp)
Technology innovation is not only supposed to lead to a better mousetrap, it's also supposed to lead to lower costs. That's precisely the idea behind a new display technology that promises inexpensive high-definition monitors.
The SED (surface-conduction electron-emitter display) is a concept that works on the same basic principle as a CRT. In a CRT monitor, an electron gun at the back of a tube blasts electrons at phosphors on the screen to create an image.
Rather than using an electron gun, an SED uses a film of individual electron emitters coated on a glass plate and positioned a few millimeters behind another glass plate coated with phosphor. This design allows for many more pixels per square inch and for large, flat panels that are less than 4 inches deep.

<--does not own a single DVD.
I have a DVD player, but it was given to me by a friend because he lost the remote and the subtitles were stuck on. About a week after he got a new one he found the remote and gave that to me as well.
When I got it, I watched the copy of American History X that he forgot was in it, and I think that's it... There might have been a movie I borrowed and watched or something, I dunno...
my movies consist of an hard-to-find kung fu flix, indie films, and rare anime...there wasn't a button for 250 +... =(
