Hello DJs
I will be hosting The Launchpad, a weekly XM Satellite radio show starting every Sunday from 5-7 pm. The purpose is for up and coming DJs to gain exposure by broadcasting CD sets to over 500,000 XM listeners across the US and Canada. We will be highlighting up and coming DJs from all over the country. The show will be mostly pre-recorded, but will also include some live performances. The following categories will be included (each week is devoted to a single genre category):
Progressive
Techno
Breaks
House
If you'd like to submit a set for the show, please be sure to include a tracklisting, your booking info, and a short bio. Include how long you've been spinning, and let us know what genre you would categorize your set. Sets should be 60 minutes or so in length, though we may edit them down if necessary.
Please send CD sets to:
The Launchpad
3055 16th Street NW
Apartmnet 102
Please keep in mind we are highlighting DJs from all over the country. If you know DJs from other parts of the country who might like to participate, please send them our information.

I can't thank you enough keenan, I listened in and loved it..
though I have to complain about the misunderstanding of my DJ name and the Mix's name... i'm LuisM (aka Illuminated) and the mix was called Chemical Pulse..
but hey, it's all good... my girlfriend and I were listening in most of the day and greatly enjoyed it.
I'd also like to know if I can submit other mixes in the future if possible? Let me know, there IS still 2 other mixes that can be broadcasted you know.. anyway, thanks again and thank you to those who listened in

I'm sorry about that. I probably recorded that show after a long day at work. I'll get it right the next time. Feel free to submit any mix that you like. Make sure to tell other about the show and have them submit mixes too. We a interested in getting mixes from around the country. DC & Balt have been reppin hard on the show lately :)

I love XM, but I do have a complaint though. As far as the EDM/Dance stations go, you have three genres DOWN, but you're missing some very important ones. You have a) house and it's variants, b) trance and it's variants, and c) downtempo/ambient/trip hop, but you're missing breaks and drum and bass !!! Honestly, I would have opted to have a breakbeat / drum and bass channel over the new XM Chill channel any day of the week, but the folks at XM must really feel that the need for a "chill" channel is greater than having a channel devoted to the much bigger genres or breaks and DnB. Maybe I'm being shortsighted, I dunno.
Long live XM !!!

i would think "chill" would be a good crossover channel to get people into house etc.

I think there are a few D&B programs. Go to xmradio.com and check out a show called "The Pressure"

It says the host for "The Pressure" is Orbit. Do you have contact info for him/her?

Yeah, they had "The Pressure" on at 1 in the afternoon, but I think they either moved it or cancelled it cause I havn't heard it in a while.
But really, there should be a breaks / DnB channel, period. 1 or 2 hours a day dosn't cut it.

try right clicking on the link and press "save target as"
because PsyFusion is the exact same bit rate as Chemical Pulse (the mix you broadcasted).. otherwise I can send you a hardcopy but it'd be the same thing really :\
