DJ's and vinyl addicts: how many rekkids do you buy per week?

currently, i am buying ZERO records per week, as my current financial situation sucks ass. so i guess i'm going to see how much you all do to see what I can aspire to once I get a new high-paying job :FUBAR:

I typically try to let the newer sounds grow on me over a few days before I get the record. That quells my impulsive purchases to the 1st category. That and the fact that I have watch the finances just like you. :sadblue: So many good choons, so little :loot: **sigh**

Same boat... so much good music, and then you've got to separate the really good from the orgasm-inducing to be able to afford any of it... =.€ (The big reason I want to spin out for teh bl1nGG~ some day is to be able to afford more records! If this DJing thing can just pay for itself, that would be the greatest thing ever -- the music is its own reward =^_^=)

I have all of my records sent over from the uk so I only recieve them once or twice a month. Avg. 16 per month if the pre order records come in on time to ship. Most of the stuff I buy is pre-order so sometimes things get backed up.

i know very few djs who actually can measure the amount of records they purchase by DAYS. try MONTHS and you might get more enlightening results.

So.... I bought 11 records yestd. from Yoshi... made up for the major deficit in my life. But right now there are no new records out there, just old ones that if you've ever wanted to own. But with the way people were picking at the bins u'd be lucky if you find something one was looking for.

There were quite a few house records and relatively few progressive & techno. Breaks were all gone!! :whoa:

When I got home and played some of the ones I did pick up I wondered why I even bothered to pick them up... :shrug: Oh well! At least I didn't pay the full $10.

I buy on average of about 7 or so a week. But I dont pay full price for them, mabye thats why their not very good.....

My tastes have gotten to become very picky as my cashflow has dwindled... I will seriously listen to a pre-Order sample like 10 times before I even think about getting it.
I guess on average since I started spinning, I'd be at around 3 per week... :shrug: but there are a bunch of them that I wish now I hadn't spent the money on. meh...

I usually order about 2 times a week. Sometimes ordering over 6-10. I am not rich and dont have alot of money, but I love buying records. It starts major fights with my wife sometimes, but I AM THE DJ!!!!!!

well like everyone else.. financial situation puts a dampner on new tunage.. but doesnt really matter though cuase i havent been that interested in whats been released lately with the exception of the past week or two.. hence why i made my 3 record order today..
all in all my record buying has decreased dramaticaly from an average of 10 records a week during the latter months of last year and the beginning months of this year..

I used to buy 10 a week, even if there weren't records I REALLY wanted.

But now I'm poor and have Final Scratch, so I couldn't tell you the last time I bought records.

And no, I'm not downloading new dance music and ripping off artists, I rip my old cds, buy cds in used stores, get mp3's from artists online that give me them to play, and download 80's music that you can't really find on wax.

I mean if you buy like 10 records a week @ $10 a pop that's
100 bucks. then if you get them online there can be shipping costs....

i sold my soul to buy records...... I think punkassmark got everyone beat, i average about 10 to 15 new releases a month, and then an additional 10 to 20 older releases for much cheaper from ebay or gemm

I usually shop once a month and buy only records that I find AMAZING, not just solid.
This helps control spending. I only find about 4-5 records a month that Im DYING to get.
On the negative, my track selection doesnt change all that drastically but at least I love almost all of my tunes. Nothing worse than spending $10-12 on some filler tune.

I did the whole 0-2 rekids per week. When you take the average, I gues its acurate. I shop maybe twice a month at MOST online, and get about 4 records pere shopping, unless its a REALLY good week. THere's no standard. It depends on how my pocket book looks and what is being released.
