DIY CD player stand -- ideas?

I don't want to spend over $100 on a CD player stand (http://www.google.com/products?q=cd%20player%20stand) but I don't have much room on my desk. I found this page with some ideas:

Anyone want to share ideas? This will be for my Denon DN-S1000 which is only about 9"x9"

The PVC is gonna jiggle around alot but the nice thing is it'll be easy to assemble. If you can build cross members into it you'll be golden, and that's easily done with some metal doweling, a drill, a boring bit and a screw bit, and some boring screws.

That clear plastic ons in the middle is gonna break easily.
