Ive been learning and making Reeces this week just for the hell of it even though I don't typically write Drum N bass. Gonna try to use some of these patches and programming skills for House/Techno tracks. Love Drum N bass sounds though! I will post my first reece tonite if anybody is curious. Synth of choice for them right now is Massive. fucking sick synth

Massive, FM8 and the ES2 for cleaner sounds. Also you should check:

lol @ your recent discovery hehe
reece basses are hella easy to make... multiple saw waves, slightly detuned from each other, the more the better and bigger the sound... add one more osc to it an octave lower as either a pulse wave or a square, then throw some phase and distortion on it, and some portamento, then just fuck with the cutoff for sweeps and what not
tip: the more detuned the different oscillators are from each other, the more wobble you will get with the reece

I use several, my "signature" reese is a preset I made on Reaktor 5's Titan R4 synth. I also use a Virus B, Zeta, and the Rob Papen stuff. The key is to make your reese sound, and resample over and over.
Just got massive 3 days ago, so I'm pretty new to it. Actually maybe you could help me....where do I assign the LFOs destinations? I have been trying to figure that out, but don't see it anywhere on the LFO. Mainly I'm trying to attach it to modulate the filter's cutoff.

It's kinda tricky but Massive is really powerful as shit. Basically whatever you are trying to modulate you can drag from the bottom right into the small empty (or numbered) boxes and control the amount of modulation by moving the bar up and down (the colors will match up cause there may be three)
I once found a crucial video tutorial on it, but this will have to do:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SK1ocGVDibg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SK1ocGVDibg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Rob: ya Sylenth is my new fav Synth. I love it
Everybody else:
YA its easy once you read how to do it but giving it your own personality is the charm. I am fucking around cause I am trying to make brand new sounds for inspiration
DNB producers have some of the best synths around imo
Anyway, check it. Made this in 10 mins. 2 reeces, the main one in Massive, the other background is Sylenth. I played this shit live in 1 take, then quantized .
I didnt do any processing or whatever, this is just a raw patches. didnt do any engineering, just interested in synth techniques at this point

lol i used that tutorial as a start point
its fucking powerful
it would be hard to make the shit i just posted without Massive's LFO stepper thingy

Yea I am still really loving massive, it's seriously great sounding. I can't believe I never used it before. Native instruments is on point.
Oh and and if you want some killer reece samples to throw into kontakt let me know, I've got shit tons.

yeah massive is dope. like hyx said you can drag the modulation sources like lfo's/envelopes to the box for the osc/knob whatever you want to modulate.
i have been meaning to download a demo for sylenth, heard good things on the kvraudio forum.
anybody fuck with zebra?
edit: also everybody should check camel audio's Alchemy. shit is very dope. you can import your own samples to be the source sounds. i've made some crucial (arguably) bass sounds by using 2-4 vocal samples as the sources and detuning/stretching them to taste....
very fun synth. also very unique sounds cuz you're able to use your own custom samples. make one in massive, import it as a source sound in alchemy and then fuck with it further.
anyway just sayin check it out.

so i acquired a new distortion unit last night and i accidentally created this gnarly fuckin' dubstep reese last night. as much as loathe dubstep, i may use this reese and i think i found my new favorite distortion :D
pro-53 and boogex ftw!
