Yeah, Five's rooftop will always have a special place in my heart.. but Champps does have a lot of potential. It has a great outdoor deck that has some open sky patio area and some patio area that is roofed over and glass enclosed, (in case it rains) Plus it is also pretty big on the inside. Gonna be a challenge to pack this one out.

Nope. Not this time anyway.

We really tried to get the BBQ there, however since this is a food joint too and not just a club, they can't do it b/c of insurance issues and also they would have to have the whole BBQ set up inspected.. Not to say that can't happen in the future, just not this time.

I'm pretty sure Five just didn't give an eff.

You do. Metro West Falls Church then take the 505 fairfax connecter to Reston. there might be another one closer but I don't remember. I've only taken the 505. Then a short walk.

The two times I've been to Lima Lounge Dubfire was playing, and then it was Dubfire again with Dirty Vegas (over Inauguration weekend). The music was on point both times I was there. Yeah, it kinda surprised me when he told me about it. The web site for Lima Lounge still seems to show the typical nights there with just generic house music on Saturdays, but hopefully he will have some good bookings soon.

If you look hard enough, you can find events like Transit, the forward-thinking house/techno weekly at Bridges in Fairfax, but those are few and far between. So we're happy to give a shoutout to tonight's Sunset Sessions in Reston, even if it's at one of the most unlikely venues: The TV-laden Champps Americana sports bar. Yeah, we know, it's not a dance club. But you have a solid crew of DJs spinning house and other good tunes -- including Dan Amatai, Colin C. and Cruxial -- plus free beer from the Miller Lite girls and other surprises, all on a covered patio. Oh, and it's free. The music runs from 8 to 2.

Also, thank you to everyone that came out last night to make it a successfull one. The bar made quadruple the sales that they usually do, and were expecting. The beer pong was cool as shit, but I got way to drunk after the first 2 rounds, and couldnt do it any longer. Dan, what the fuck?? Where the hell did you come from, and why are you not playing more places?? You've definitely got my support. Im not saying the other DJs didnt play well, either, because everyones set was on point, but Dan's just stood out the most for me.

After 2 years of a break, it was nice to start Sunset Sessions back off with a bang.
