if you look at their website then you will see that there are almost no other us tour dates. there are 2 other stops listed....one in detroit on the 22'nd and one in chicago on the 23'rd. then the next weekend they are back in europe. i am assuming that a monday was the only date that worked for both parties on this limited tour.

of course the dc date isn't even posted on the website yet, so i might be mistaken. *shrug*

Jilted wasn't as complete as FOTL
To me, FOTL is a perfect album if you don't count track 10.
Jilted had Voodoo, Poison, No Good, etc. But how many times do you listen to One Love, Speedway, Narcotic Suite, etc? FOTL is all classics. Narayan, Mindfields, Funky Shit, ALL up there with the level of Smack imo. I still listen to the whole album while with Jilted, I only listen to the big tunes

I still LOVE "Out of Space", "Jericho", "Weather Experience", "Ruff in the Jungle". Dont get me wrong. Its just, they are more dance tracks while the stuff that started coming out on Jilted and Fat of the Land, transcended to a level that wasn't as disposable like most dance music. The later tracks were real songs that few edm tracks achieve, beyond just loops. hard to explain. Stylistically, Experience obviously appeals to you breakers more. But honestly, can you argue about the maturity of the songs from the first album to the later stuff?

Good question. I got into Prodigy BEFORE they got huge in the US. I heard a bootleg promo on mp2 (yes right b4 mp3 came out) of Firestarter before it hit big in the UK. I kinda hated it at first but it sounded so different that something hooked me and I wanted to find out more. Back then I used to surf countless hours online to get dance music that I couldn't find in the US. I found and bought Jilted Generation online and it rocked my world. This was before I knew raves existed and it converted me from pop dance music (the only thing I had access to at the time), to underground edm for the first time. Blow me away. I then bought Experience and thoguht it was killer too but never the same level as Jilted. I could blast both albums in my dorm and my dormmates thought I was some kind of FREAK. Then the next year, Prodigy hit BIG in the US and the same people making fun of music were borrowing my cds. I went to Europe and Firestarter was on tv ALL the time and I started loving it. When I got Fat of the Land, I thought it was great but not better than Jilted. But over time, it became the most played album in the history of my life and eventually my fav album of all time.

Good point, if he is getting paid I can definitely understand sticking to the assignment. I would just think that stuff in that situation would be submitted to someone else for their own purposes rather than his own web site like we do.

I was in the pit at Ultra covering The Prodigy. Because there were so many photographers we were split in 2 groups. I was in group 2 and was slightly disappointed because I needed to get my material then move on because there's so much to cover so I didn't want to wait too long. The first group went out for song 1, the switch out of photographers happened during song 2, then we got to shoot song 3. We also had to sign a release to shoot The Prodigy specifically, and they were pretty strict about it. So I'm in the pit concentrating on covering fast moving objects with no flash (I swear I think these guys are moving targets on purpose just to tease with us! ; ) The photographers are bumping into each other but we can't help it because we're concentrating on the stage action. Well I eventually almost get knocked over from someone on my left (and have a very blurry shot to prove it!) and I looked over and it was Maxim Reality who had jumped into the pit with the assistance of security to greet and taunt some of the first row fans! (Glad I was in group 2 after all!)

This. 99% of club photographers are there to take pics of the people and maybe 5 pics of the artist. If you go to most major club photo sites, it's impossible to tell what the event is looking at the gallery most of the time; you can name it "Tiesto and PvD Tag Team @ McDonalds" and nobody would know the difference from the random people shots. I skew highly towards the DJ edge.

Most DJs hire me for the DJ photography of themselves, and not the people in it such as this Deadmau5 tour, he hired me to take pics of him and behind-the-scenes stuff. Lots of the venues take a while to get a good shot from the stage, which is why i'm on it most of the time. I can't just hang out on stage either; I have to hide and pop out at the right moment too; otherwise I don't think people would be too happy if they came to see Deadmau5 and me just running around in front of him.

It all depends on what is going on, really. Like for back in LA, Giant Thursdays I am the only photographer so I do both DJ and people shots. Giant Saturdays, another promotions team is doing people shots, so I do mostly DJ shots and some hot girl shots here and there (lately just DJ shots due to some internal drama which will hopefully be resolved in April :)

Jesse's style definitely goes a lot deeper than that... was talking to him last night about what he's planning on bringing... looking forward to his set... if anyone can build this crowd up right, he can definitely pull it off... gonna try to get there as close to 7 as possible to catch his set...
