no offense to anyone but I dont see why Hybrid is so sweated. I have never been a big fan of theirs and this mix is boring and would cause me to leave the room if I heard it live.

I think thats the problem. I have never seen them live. Their dj sets are very mellow and I don like mellow shit.

Yeah. Some people don't get it. But that is fine by me.

Most of the time Hybrid is about a more of a chill laid back, intricate organic sound. Which in my old age, is relaxing when at work and chillin round the house.

Not every one likes the same type of music. Different people, at different stages in their life, from different areas of the EDM spectrum, have different tastes.

Agreed. Their production is outstanding. And the live act is amazing.

btw, hybrid's DJ sets used to effing pwn the house. check out the massive archive we have at hybridized.

they did change their sound and took the elctro tip to quite an extent, since 2006. but their live shows are still amazing.

I really like this set. True, it's a lot more laid-back than what I usually enjoy, but they've got such a great sound that I adore almost anything Hybrid that I hear.

I downloaded it and listened to about 30 sec....then skipped to about the 15 minute mark...crap...skipped again to the 30 minute mark...yep crap...and so on. did listen to 5 whole minutes straight before i wanted to poke a hole in my ear. So to the trash bin it went.

oh and I say that in the nicest way possible. Though I have never liked any music that was mellow evar.

The set may be a little more on the mellow end but honestly everytime I've heard them do a live OR dj set they always played dancy shit. I wouldn't call it "bangin" but definitely stuff you can get down to.

Hybrid is amazing live. Those guys are not that mellow if you see them in person. Their cd's take some getting used to for some. I didn't like Wide Angle at first but LOVE it now.

This set from August 2007 is a lot like and has some of the tracks they played at FUR last time they were in town. Really sounds good with a sound system that can handle the bass..

seriously, is hybrid playing live, or dj set? this is a huge determining factor for me. i suspect it's a dj set, tho, since i saw a flyer for them doing a dj thng in ny, so i suppose they're touring around doing that?

they don't really do live shows unless it's in promotion of a new album (last album came out in 2006). plus, it will 99% of the time say "hybrid live" or "hybrid live pa" if that is the case--otherwise you can assume it's a dj set.

p.s. they have a new monthly show on friskyradio, which we'll be hosting soon on hybridized.org.

Thanks! I have been doing a lot of out of town shows lately. Got a dope one coming up in April out in Minneapolis with Delta 9 and Green Velvet.
