There has been a lack of soulful, crispy, jazzy Drum & Bass in DC lately - Bobby & Harry are gonna remind us all how beautiful DnB can be, and how well it suits a venue like Gallery. DnB was my first true passion in life and I can't even tell you how happy I am to finally have it showcased at Gallery.

Starting things out for the evening we've got 9th Wonder label mate Cuzzin B, who's mix of jazzy hip hop and soul will surely blend nicely with what Bobby and Harry have in store for us.

he'll be starting things off early with some jazzy hip hop and soul. he's one of 9th Wonder's label mates from True School (http://www.trueschoolcorp.com) remember, the goal of this party is to showcase good music from all genres... each night we try to focus on highlighting one genre in particular, but we also make sure that at least one other genre is included - this party is all about diversity....

but have no fear - harry and bobby will be playing for the majority of the night.... cuzzin b will be playing from around 8-10 (or something like that)

that's right - it's a 3 minute walk from the silver spring metro.... Gallery is right by the intersection of Georgia Ave & East West Hwy (right on the border of DC) for people coming from the city, its not too bad at all to get there - for peeps coming from suburbs in VA & MD, it's really easy cuz its only 5 minutes off of 495.... i live in reston, and it takes me no more than 20 minutes to get there.

the fact that gallery isn't in the city works as a great filter to keep the cheezy fake ass mofos out!

and it's even more summer friendly than before... they added another full bar and grilling station on the patio! now it's really easy to get drinks and food even if its busy (there are 4 full bars)

for those of you that are looking for somewhere to grab dinner on friday before you go out, the food at Gallery is delicious and pretty affordable - their yucca fries are CRUCIAL!

For all ya'll that aint been there, they have an outdoor area where they allow Djs to spin until late as fuck. I dont know how they dont get a noise complaint, but the place a GREAT venue.

Oh yeah FREE valet service, is pimp too.

Definatley come out to these Friday night parties, because this venue has potential.

deep how i contradict myself in one sentence saying it is both hard and easy to find... i guess what i mean (just to clarify for myself) is that mp3s of this don't exist. so hearing it in full today won't be easy.

I think they were brought together because of villalobos. He heard the track blood on my hands (which is about 911 etc) and liked it... in doing so he contacted the label and thus the remixing began. whats funny is for such a "big track" no one really knows it in the dub step community. I don't know why but it may be because the shackleton style is soooooooooo deep sometimes...and the same can be true of ricardo. either way, they are both quality tracks everyone should check out. and cheers to a night of dubstep at the gallery.

2nd favorite - "Just in Boo" by Ms. Dynamite. I think that one was actually a mashup of two records - one being "Boo" by Ms. Dynamite. I don't know where the "Just In" part came from.

Last night was nice out in the alley. Chapmange was definitely a good drink for the outdoors.

Great venue and good times. The location was fantastic, not difficult at all to get to from Snatch (9th and F St NW) - I got my fill of some awesome electro, then ditched the party to get to this one. I caught the tail end of Ransom's set...really enjoyed Phill's set outside - well, what I caught of it anyway. I tend to alternate between being in and outside. I'll come again. :thumbsup:

Well, I'm glad I had a great time with my friend Lee and danced my ass off to his set last night, because I sounds like I missed a serious jammy-jam there at the Gallery!

And that light wall thingy is uber cool, too! I'm glad that's a mainstay of the alley set up! I'm sure it'll be a hit down at Burning Man, too! 88FTW!
