.....We are pleased to announce a very special In-Store at DJ Hut with Hip Hop Activist / MC Immortal Technique. This event will take place on Saturday June 28th, 2008 at 3pm. revolutionary vol 1 & 2 should be required listening. it has been 5 years since his last full length. i wonder if third world will stand up against the revolutionary series. he set the bar really high with those two releases.
he's definitely a dope mc, and chooses good production for tracks, but I wouldn't say he's got anything particularly inciteful to say as far as politics. Beef and Broccoli is dope. His tracks like Crossing the Boundary that are just grimey battle tracks are way better than when he goes into some conspiracy theory b.s. As far as his message being "don't be whack" I feel that

I think Peruvian Cocaine is a great track that sheds a little light on the drug trade that many people are unaware of.

i liked immortal technique until 2 years ago at rock the bells when he went on a 45 minute rant about george bush fucking his grandmother in the ass and white people saying the "n" word but how it was ok for him to do so cuz he's half hispanic half black. he just stood up there fucking PREACHING and sounding very ignorant. as a result the rest of the show was pushed back like an hour cuz this dick needed to talk and talk.
he thinks he's smarter than he is. even when i met the guy at a previous show he acted like a dick like i shouldn't even be talking to him. mostly un-approachable.
fuck immortal technique. his music is OK at best imo but his ego and his wannabe political speeches are lacking intelligence and audience. nobody knows what the fuck this idiot is talking about.

Lame! I'm not surprised though.
Anyone who goes on a rant about proper & improper usage of the N word at a big ass show needs to reexamine what it is to entertain.
He does have a couple songs I really like but on the whole his albums haven't been all that impressive. I won't be making my way to DJ Hut for this but figured I'd post if for some people who might be interested.

his strength is definitely in battle rapping, as with all of the Stronghold Crew. The line about your girl getting nailed on Bangbus made me laugh my ass off
