While surely there are fans of your music, this promo was posted to a breakbeat forum. I think you would have significantly more success/response if you were posting promotional material in trance forums. Additionally, I feel this promo would be much more effective if it actually talked about your release (your music that is) as opposed to you lifting up your choir robe.

While amusing anecdotes catch the attention of most readers, you’re selling music, not books. Link directly to your release on beatport, don’t make people sift through beatport to find it. Cause, honestly, what are the chances of that happening?

I have gotten another email about some sort of spam being posted on message boards and I have to say that I have absolutely nothing to do with these postings.

I am currently working with a new record label and the single that is being spoken of in that message is an old one from last summer. My information is public knowledge (my bio and other professional information, etc is publicly and readily available on the internet) That is not even a press release, it is simply my bio (which is available on my website or myspace page) that has been copied with the beatport information added on. I would never put out a press release that looked like that lol

The only thing I can think of is perhaps some fan of my music is posting these things - there is no other explanation as I do not hire any sort of company that engages in spamming boards (or anyone else) and that song is an old release that I am no longer promoting. When I post on these boards I believe the personal touch is more effective and I come on as myself and talk about my new releases.

I really appreciate you taking the time to contact me and let me know that this is even happening - if you have a link to this posting I would like to take to a look at it to see if I can figure out what is going on....and thanks for the suggestions - if that really had been something I posted those are really good tips on putting together a useful press release and it was very kind of you to reach out and email me..
