It has something to do with no "thug wear" I believe. It's something that a lot of DC clubs enforce.

It usually ends anywhere from 3:30 - 4am.

I've actually seen them let in people with white sneakers in the past, however we try to emphasize that people NOT wear them so that a night at the club doesn't turn into a huge inconvenience for you.

Most DC clubs have banned "athletic wear" altogether but Ibiza is generally relaxed unless the person looks like total shit.

On the bright side, tonight you will here nothing but good jammin techno. Super stoked to have Ali back again.

Ah sweet sweet techno. Last night was a "fughing amazing show." The best part of the night had to have been Ali leaving Glow and going over to the warehouse party. I haven't heard minimal or techno live like that in a hot minute. He played a completely different sound, perfect for the warehouse vibe. My ears are still ringing, and I don't care ... was worth it (that and my ears havent rang in a couple years).

Kudo's to Dubfire for playing techno and having me actually like it!

great night, missed the after hours tho! was really impressed by the warm up dj too, great vibe.

ali continues to amaze me more & more everytime i hear him play. compared to his last time in DC i felt like he was a little more toned down at the club but rockin nonetheless... but JESUS CHRIST his set at the afterparty, especially from 5-6am was completely relentless. track after track i kept saying "this is the best shit i've ever heard." didn't recognize a god damn thing either and he really kept pushin it strong.

it's definitely been almost 4 years since a dj has kept me until the very end. i had to work this morning and desperately wanted to get home for sleep but my feet were stuck on that dancefloor.

coupled with some fellow buzzboarders, amazing music all night, good vibe, and friends all over the place this was seriously the best night i've had this year so far.

God I wish I had come by myself and without the roommates (who wanted to leave early).

I am so utterly stoked that Ali is playing at DEMF this year. I think he's going to steal the show from some of the other big talent there this year to be honest. Everything he's playing AND everything he's been releasing recently has been absolutely off the fucking chain.

Rapidly he is becoming one of the DJs on my short list for all-time favorite...

I'd love to see him mix it up with some of the other techno heavy-hitters out there.

Dubfire ='s AMAZING! Matti said Ali turned around and told him that he was "Just having fun," with the set we heard.. that "2 hours just wasn't enough time to do his thing." I will definitely be making even more of a conscious effort to make it to his in town events. Very nice!

Matti and I made it to the after party for like 40 minutes.. buuuuut... I wasn't feeling so hot, so we booked it.

I think he's really been able to let loose now that he & Sharam parted ways. I always liked him from his prog days but never would've listed him as a favorite. Right now he's just simply on fire. And watching him play at that afterparty was a testiment to how much he enjoys what he's doing and how into it he really is.

In response to Jenni's post... Ali usually requests to play for 5+ hours when he's here where he really gets to do his thing. I definitely would have liked this to be the case last night but I definitely think Phil C opened things up PROPER (would love to get a tracklisting from his set too)

Yeah. I know the last two times he's been at Glow, he's played 5 -6 hour sets. But I agree, Phil C tour it up BIG TIME as the opener. I wish he was asked to open more often.

First time I've ever seen Phil C and he was on point. I was lamenting some of the tracks that he played, as there were some classics mixed in that I had which went poof in the fire.

What a fun night. And it was my first time at Ibiza too. Glow sure has come a long way from when they used to be at Insomnia. :afterbuzz: But srsly, Ibiza is a really pretty venue, I liked it a lot. And the sound in the main room was awesome.

I got a bit drunker than I expected to. I blame anyone who bought me a drink that night, lolz.

I'm sure I'll be back at some point.

That moment damn near made me shoot liquor out my nose it was so funny. Primarily because I was like "wtf, Satori gagging on liquor, especially that bad?" Thought times had changed, but your excuse was legit.

It's all right, the Jameson made me gag too.

There was a reason I didn't finish my Corona before we all took shots. Chaser, anyone? :D
