View Full Version : REDEYE RECORDS gets a SHITCAN rating

So i order Bad Company's UK Classics. The nine looks like they threw rock salt on the press..pot holes everywhere. the vynil is flimsy, and the packaging was all beat to shit. PLUS all the info is scratched out like they l;abled it wrong..fuckin weak. The main thing is waiting all this time for a record, like moving fusion's sex drive, and getting poopety bobble garbage,.All in all this is the third time i've had a problem with them..whether it's beat vynil, sending the totally wrong thing or what have you, i think redeye needs spanked.:paddle:

sorry to hear that, yeah a couple of times the records seemed to have sand. But speaking for redeye, they're usually on point.

dude. it can't come out perfect all the time. Did you contact them? I dont see why they wouldnt replace it for you rushed if you stated your case...

That sounds like the publishing company, not the dealer? Redeye has no say on what weight or quality of vinyl Bad Company chooses to press.

Is it possible that that's the mail system and not Redeye? I doubt they beat up their own packages before shipment.

I'm unclear on this. The "info" on your shipping label, on the record sleve and label, or the etching in the inner vinyl around the label of the record?


I'm just curious because I had a big problem with Redeye once, out of about 25 orders and they went WAY out of the way to correct it, including offering to personally currier my shipment and have it hand delivered to me across the Atlantic. I'd contact them regarding the issues (if they are not just quality control issues at the pressing plant and postal services) and I'd bet they'll take care of you properly.

same here. only problem i have had is one warped/scratched record and them taking a long ass time to ship once.

hehe, I remember that. It was right around the time of my loooooooong shippment. (which ended up being the fault of my local post office)

i def remember that happening to us at the same time. i dont know what caused mine but they only ended shipping two of my records and refunding the rest of my money a month or two later. or was it Chemical?

Just got an order from chemical and theres deff a scratch, havent had any issues with redeye.

Based on the original post, I'm still feeling like this is not Redeye, but BC's publishing company and the mail system. I've heard nothing to make me think otherwise. How about those photos and/or details?

I didn't read anyone else's responses so I apologize if I'm repeating information. You do have the option to have stiffeners put in your packaging to protect your shipment. I've encountered the incorrect record situation before and I have to admit they are always great about fixing the problem. I've been sent the correct record and was able to keep the one I didn't want/need. Every time I've had a problem it has been fixed with a simple e-mail. Try that and hopefully you'll get things sorted out.

I use Red Eye alot and have had af ew issues in the past but they have gone out of their way to make it right on those occasions. I usually get my order in no more than week from time of order to delivery.

werd. ok to answer everyone's questions, no pics cuz thats just too much crap to do on here. Look at the moon and you'll get the picture..yes, that bad. Second, write out your name. Now squiggle that out till it's unintelligable, you now have the scratch out. do you have any saran wrap at your house? Yeah almost that flimsy. I understand that certain things are beyond redeye's control, and yes they have been contacted and have returned my message and they are sending me a new copy out. So happy happy, but what bugs me is the fact of quality from jump. That the records were not inspected first and that they even made it to my door that way. I shake my fist at bad company recordings!!!

so, as of now, problem resolved, waiting on the new batch.

redeye is reinstated to acceptable again;)

no offense, but you sound like u're being a whiney bitch over nothing. so you thought there was something wrong with your record, they replaced it. more than many places would do, let alone in another country.

Yeah, Often labels have to re-etch because they get a cataloge wrong or release pushed back, a master mishap, etc. Most likely it was a repress and they simply scratched out the name and redid a cataloge number.
