So, who else on this message board gets down to reggae & dancehall? Along w/ ragga-jungle. dnb, and dubstep - reggae/dancehall is full of sick beats, raw emotion, and definitly gets the dance floor movin'!!!!

Lets see how many people out there in the DC/VA/MD area know how to keep tha fiyah burning!!!!!!!

can't say i have seen 'em, but I know alot about them.

.... a bit of background on me - used to throw parties around here 4/5 years ago; my day job started moving me around all over the country (TX, PA, VA,MD, etc...) Now I've been back in the arean for around a year and have been steady grindin' on my reggae parties. Unfortunately, I've been extremely focused on getting them off the ground and haven't been going out to other functions too much. Now tings are great! Ready to get out & about, and spread the movement of TRIBALISTIX, and meet the rest of the souljahs in the scene!

but yeah, the local DC reggae scene is firing for sure. there are tons of DJ's playing all varieties of reggae music and a bunch of great bands too. a few i recommend you to go check out are (and of course there are more!):

SEE-I
SOJA
THE I*TERNALS
S.T.O.R.M.
NAYAS
JAH WORKS

what's great about all these bands to come out of this area is that they all have their own unique sound & flavor, so it really keeps it fresh. and turnout is pretty strong & consistent at the shows as well....

:respekt:

Do you know if the SEE-I show at Mosaic in a few months is still goin down or is that crushed because of the new management?

ever seen SOJA?

Ive seen em like 4 times at the state theatre.

I also went to the Bob Marley Roots, Rock Reggae show a few years back and actually met one of the bands performing Slightly Stoopid.

I Love Reggae. Before I listened to electronis music i almost exclusively listened to Reggae. But I dont like Dancehall. I really like the older more traditional stuff. Obviously im a huge Bob fan but theres lots of great shit out there. Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Yellowman are prob my other three favs.

might wanna hit the wailers @ rams head.

I missed them when they came to town over the summer. I was even more upset that I missed Steel Pulse.
