View Full Version : would you break up with a guy

ok, so this was a discussion on another message board, and i thought it was VERY buzzboard appropriate.
ladies, would you break-up with a guy if you found out he was taking enzyte (the male enhancement pill)?
also, let me edit this question a little.. it supposed to be a guy you *just* started dating, not a long-term boyfriend.
like, your on your fourth or fifth date and you find it secretly in his bathroom or something.

does it work?
I have no idea. Honestly, I'm not a fan of medication at all unless you NEED it. I don't even take Advil or ibuprofen or anything unless I'm in serious pain.
I'd def not break up with someone over it tho.
i doubt it works.
current civil lawsuit alleges Enzyte does not work as advertised[2]. Despite manufacturer claims that Enzyte will increase penis size, girth, firmness, and improve sexual performance, there exists no scientific evidence that Enzyte is capable of these claims. In fact, Enzyte has never been scientifically tested by the FDA, or other independent third party. [3] Accordingly, Enzyte is required by current US law to be marketed as an herbal supplement, and may not legally be called a drug. In keeping with FTC rulings, Enzyte is not allowed to claim these benefits in its advertising. However, as of January 2008, TV commercials for the product still use the phrase "natural male enhancement."

That would be a weak, immature, and shallow reason to break up with someone. That stuff is basically a marketing ploy, which means that if it is helping him, it's psychosematically. So the reason you are going to break up with him is because of his self-consciousness about sexual performance. Plus, considering that over half of the men who take actual ED medication take them recreationally, chances are that he has it to give more of a boost to make sex more enjoyable for all.
I don't understand why, out of all of the things a guy could do to be break-up worthy, this would be an issue.

Since you edited, I'm going to reply to stuff you added into your first post.
In my opinion, it doesn't matter if it's a guy I just started dating or if we've been together for a long time and I'm just now finding out about it.
Regardless of if it's recreational, because he needs it, or just because he likes to pop sexy placebo pills... in the end, why would it matter at all? If the sex isn't great, well, that's why god invented toys. And if it's too much (like the pills make him too big, etc), then I'd rather talk to him about it than just dump him.

Hilarious. That is small potatoes in a relationship.
I think if you found out someone was taking any kind of medication for a problem that has the ability to affect both people, and hadn't told you about it, it would be worthy of a discussion (not a break-up)--assuming the relationship were even serious enough for it to matter...a few-month fling wouldn't matter as much.
(...there are some exceptions...I wouldn't want to find out I'd been lied to-by-omission about something like schizophrenia. And on another note, often medications are prescribed for things other than what most people associate them with. So...again, that takes us back to the communication aspect. If the relationship isn't important enough to make things like that worth talking about, then it probably isn't that important of a relationship in the first place )

It's a new level of dumbfuckery that I have yet to witness on my own, but I wouldn't be able to conceal my laughter if they truly believed it worked. The last thing any girl wants to hear is that sexytime has become a therapy session where we sit and talk about your insecure penis issues. That is the last thing women want their man to be insecure about... we generally know what we're getting ourselves into in that department and if we had a problem with it prior, you wouldn't still be nailing us.

If I discovered that a guy I just started dating was taking Enzyme, my only concern would be that it would stop working, as medications tend to do from time-to-time. I'm a size queen and stuff like that is important to me. Having a small cock and not being able to make me laugh are total dealbreakers. I don't mean to be a bitch, but not having those two things would make me chronically unhappy and the relationship just wouldn't work.

There is no way that you would see a real difference. If that shit actually worked (a) a major pharmaceutical company would be pushing it HARD and (b) it would be a revolution in medical science as it would have figured out how to grow human anatomy, etc.

there's also a lot of shit in other developed first world countries that will never get approved by the FDA because they are cheaper and more efficient treatments.
my brother just flew to sweden to have skin cancer treated on his nose. in the USA, he would have had to have his face all carved up (possibly multiple times) in order to get the cancer cells out. in sweden he underwent a procedure, non-FDA approved of course, with a topical cream that was put on his nose.. and his nose put under a light for 15 minutes. he went through this for two days, and then the cancer cells were gone. the cream intensified the growth of the cells inside his body that would normally have fought off the cancer, and the light made them grow stronger and kill it themselves.
but the surgeon at home wouldnt have made a dime off this, so my brother had to go through extensive "refusal of treatment" red tape before going off and doing this non-invasive, non-painful, non-FDA procedure.

I'm sorry, but the FDA can't tell a doctor how to practice medicine. FDA approves drugs to be sold for certain indications, and can't step in to stop a doctor to prescribe anything they want. The FDA is out there for your protection, and usually sides against big pharma. If a doctor wants to prescribe a treatment, any treatment, they can. The FDA also grants accellerated approval for such treatments like you're talking about so they don't have to go through the normal scrutiny of typical drugs.

I hear about people doing this all the time... flying out of this country or in to get medical work done. Didn't Farrah Fawcett fly out to get some stuff done we don't allow due to stem cell laws? I think so.
My only fear is what if the surgery/medicines went wrong? What if there are complications? Is everything legit for him to go back if need be and have things looked at and all that? If you take things that are not FDA approved can you still sue if it comes to that? I'm assuming so since so many people take the risk.

The FDA also grants accellerated approval for such treatments, when paid a huge bribe technically known as an "expedition fee" which bypasses otherwise required testing on cells, animals, and then humans, like you're talking about so they don't have to go through the normal scrutiny of typical drugs.

The FDA also grants accellerated approval for such treatments like you're talking about so they don't have to go through the normal scrutiny of typical drugs.
i know admittedly little about the legal implications of the FDA, all i know is that it was impossible for my brother to find anyone who was willing to perform that treatment on him in the USA - and all cited the fact that it was not an FDA approved procedure. whether that is on account of the topical cream/drug not being approved, the procedure itself not being approved, or something else entirely i'm not sure.
he actually has worked for a biotech company most of his adult life, which is how he knew about this. why it hasn't been approved in the US, i can't say for certain, but it's been around for some time now (he was far from a test patient).
dina - the US is not the only country with malpractice laws. just because you are a citizen of the US doesn't typically mean you won't be protected under some form of the same when you are in a different country. obviously that differs from place to place, but in most of first world europe it is roughly equivalent to over here.

I did a google search and it seems pretty common, with the procedure listed in a few medical journals, or at least a very similar one to what your brother received, and the active cream is approved in the US, although for a different indication.
Only reason I mentioned that is most new cancer treatments are administered off-label anyways, so it's kind of shocking that nobody here would do it.
sorry for any threadjack.

the only thing that makes your cock grow:
Surgery
The pump(highly advise against doing this, it can cause major damage)
Weight loss. 10% bodyfat loss, 1 inch gain. I can't wait for my 8 inch cock.

LOL I wasn't aware that they did surgery for that - I guess it doesn't shock me, but I have never heard of it before.
How does that work?
Dr. I would like you to take this Louisville Slugger, and attach it to my cock.

Is four years of working for the FDA enough research for ya?!
I'm pretty sure you could find out about the approval expediation process with a little digging, yourself.
oh goodness... Do some research on the subject, what you state has never happened.

They snip a part of your penis that's attached at the base, believe me you do not want, what they don't tell you is that most guys have hard time keeping erection once this surgery is done!
